There is something wonderfully exuberant and life-affirming about Marta Wakuła-Mac’s new work. In the smaller pieces pairs of women in red dresses, black hair whipping over their faces, dance wildly across the paper, waving bright scarves or the shoes they have taken off so as to feel the earth beneath their feet. They glory in their physicality, limbs askew, asking for nothing more than joy in the moment (...). They are powerful, assured works which surely place Marta Wakuła-Mac in among the front rank of young print artists working today. [Susan Knight] |
